We'll cover my picks in a second. As you might have figured, I kept my TV mainly on the Flyers and Hurricanes game. Pretty boring. The only pretty goal scored all night was by Danny Briere. Typical right by the net goal, but pretty all the same. Nothing exciting otherwise. Speaking of Briere, what a year for this guy. He hasn't really produced and he's been injured a bunch over the last few years. It's great to see Briere having such a good year at last. This was the Danny Briere we were expecting when we signed him. Kudos to him.
All the games besides one went to OT tonight, one even went to a shootout I believe too. Here are the results and record for 2/10/11:
Thursday 2/10/2011
Flyers vs Hurricanes : Flyers : Correct : 12-8
Penguins vs Kings : Kings : OT/L : Wrong : 12-9
Devils vs Maple Leafs : Devils : OT/W : Correct : 13-9
Islanders vs Canadiens : Canadiens : SO/L : Wrong 13-10
Sabres vs Panthers : Sabres : OT/W : Correct : 14-10
So I ended up 3-2 tonight. Not bad considering how many games went to extra time. The goal by Tyler Myers in Buffalo tonight was an excellently placed shot. Froze Vokoun right in place. I lucked out on that pick, but I still think Buffalo beats Florida in a shootout.
The Canadiens game was a surprise. With all the trouble the Islanders have had in terms of goaltending, it seemed the Canadiens should have taken this one. I also had figured Carey Price was starting tonight. This wasn't the case as Alex Auld played. Mikko Koskinen did an excellent job for the Islanders and Kyle Okposo was able to drain a goal through Auld for the win.
Onto Friday's picks:
Red Wings vs Bruins ==> Bruins
Sharks vs Devils ==> Sharks
Penguins vs Islanders ==> Penguins
Avalanche vs Blue Jackets ==> Blue Jackets
Rangers vs Thrashers ==> Rangers
Wild vs Blues ==> Wild
Blackhawks vs Stars ==> Stars
Ducks vs Flames ==> Ducks
Back to work for me so I won't be able to watch the games, but I'll sure take a look at clips and also post my thoughts and picks for tomorrow.
Night!
