2/20/2011 - Day of Perfection?!?

* Pre-Skate *

Was able to watch some of the Flyers/Rangers match online. I'm guessing due to it airing on NBC, it wouldn't show on the NHL Center Ice package. Thankfully, NHL.com offered the games to watch for free. I saw most of the third period of what appeared to be a pretty tough match for the Flyers. They haven't looked too good the last few games. The last few games against the Panthers, Hurricanes, and Rangers haven't been convincing wins (aside from the loss in Carolina). As a fan of them, I'm a little concerned, but I feel they have the right GM and coach to get them out of this funk.

On another note, I finally made my purchase for the Philly/Dallas game on March 19th. Absolutely looking forward to seeing my team play as they only come once a year if I'm lucky. Found seats two rows from the glass for $90 a piece. As it's on a Saturday and both teams are having great to fairly good seasons, the choices were slim. I'm happy with the seats though.

Don't have as much to say as I did yesterday, so we'll get right to the results.

For the first time since I began making picks, tonight was the first time I was perfect. I won all five games today. I was actually sure it would never happen, but hey, I'll take it. Most of the games were pretty easy to pick so I won't sit confidently. I could easily go 0-3 tomorrow. So...here are the results from today.

Red Wings at Wild : Pick - Red Wings : Result- 2-1 Red Wings : Correct (OT/W) : 50-42
Penguins at Blackhawks : Pick - Blackhawks : Result- 3-2 Blackhawks : Correct (SO/W) : 51-42
Canadiens at Flames : Pick - Flames : Result- 4-0 Flames : Correct : 52-42

Dumbest Pick of the Night : Hard to hand this one out when none of the picks turned out to be dumb. I'll save beating myself up for another night. It'll surely come soon.

Hardest Pick of the Night : Toss up really if I'm being honest. It's easy to say it was the Penguins and Blackhawks, but the Canadiens and Flames game was just as challenging. Fortunately I had enough insight and statistics to choose the Flames over the Habs. I'll give the HPotN to the Penguins at the Blackhawks.

Easiest Pick of the Night : Also a tough choice.  I'm going with the Flyers over the Rangers. Though, if you watched the game, the score wasn't reflective of the play, the Flyers won regardless. New York has yet to beat Philly this year which is what I based my pick off of (and the whole me being a Flyer fan thing too).
